I am one of many geeks who can build a computer from parts. Choosing what to use is the hardest part, haha.
I run my own network at home, including wireless down to my Shop.
I build and design robots, sometimes.
A great resource available now a days are the Lego Mindstorms products. They are NOT your child's plastic play blocks. I'll post some links.
